Percentage of survival in IFN-γ or TNF-α depleted, HK-vaccinated mice. Following individual cytokine depletions, mice were challenged with 2 × 10⁷ CFU B. mallei by intraperitoneal injection (n = 5 per group). At day 6 post infection, IFN-γ depleted mice demonstrated a 100% mortality (p = 0.0446) compared to that of the isotype control. At day 3 post infection, TNF-α-depleted mice demonstrated 100% mortality (p = 0.0145) compared to that of the isotype control. Results are representative of two experiments with the same group sizes.
